We Didn't Start the Fire

The Irony of dressing up like 'Gil' from Body Beat and then, in a rare show of courage and impulsiveness,  attending one of the infamous nightclubs in the village for 80's night, only to be kicked out minutes later onto the frozen curb for smuggling in a hip flask of whiskey is not lost on us; least of all me as the foolhardy owner of said hip-flask, who left it lying on the bar counter.

Right through January and February I pestered Brendon into submitting an entry into the Pique news magazine's valentines competition. The premise of the competition was to write a story under 200 words  that begins with the phrase 'I knew it was love when...' 
Long story short, he submitted his entry on the eve of the cut off date, and a few days later we found out that we had been chosen as one of the 10 winners! Our prize consists of the following:

• 1x night at the Quality Hotel in downtown Vancouver.
• 60 minute couples massage at the the Fairmont Vida Spa.
• $150 gift certificate to Rimrock Cafe Fine Dining Restaurant. 
• $75 gift certificate to Elements Tapas Bar.
• $120 gift certificate to Whistler Food and Wine Tasting Tours. 

It's a substantial amount of value and we'll be redeeming said prize in the next few weeks.
